"My art portrays the world around me." Through her travels and interest in botanicals, nature, and birds, Laura Lynn Johnson explores the characteristics of each. As a native Texan and fifth generation Austinite, she has developed a personal style using a variety of watercolor and mixed media techniques, giving personality, character, and affect into her work.
Much of her work is born from her formal training in art therapy and a personal belief in the healing power of creativity. Johnson has been an active birdwatcher and gardener for over 20 years, her subject matter reflecting her patient appreciation for the outdoors. Her interest in the color and form of the world around her continues to inspire her in the studio.
