Leslie Kell, a lens-based artist and designer, has dedicated over 35 years to her career in the Austin area. Holding a BA with a background in painting and illustration, Leslie initially worked as a freelance graphic artist before expanding into photography and digital art. In 2008, she developed a distinctive technique that merges her photos and drawings, resulting in her unique images. Her work blends natural forms, weaving photos into the patterns of her drawings to create depth and dimension.
Inspired by original poetry, her thematic Collections add narrative layers to her compositions. Kell’s art explores shifting perceptions, memory, and the fleeting nature of reality. Recurring themes of water, light, and reflection evoke a dreamlike familiarity—a place just beyond recollection, yet waiting to be discovered.
