Born in Romania, Malina Cipleu is a contemporary glass artist based in Austin, Texas. Drawing inspiration from the delicate moments that weave tapestry of our lives, she finds beauty in the transient where scene unfold swiftly - a footprint erased by the tide, morning fog dissipating, a group of tiny mushrooms peeking from under a log, or distant laughter of once-young children. As a glass artist, Malina finds themedium fascinating in its transparency reflcetion, fragility, and strength, as she allows is to guide her, understand it, and embrace the unexpected. Sheets of glass enamels, and glass powders transform under the kiln's heat and provide the artist with a vocabulary she couldn't find in words. Passionate about sharing her knowledge, Malina teaches kiln-forming glass techniques from powder wafer design to kln carving at Helios Fused Glass Studio in Austin, Texas.
